I have always been passionate about traveling and leading a healthy lifestyle. Over the past 17 years, I have traveled to more than 40 countries backpacking and camping across Europe, Asia, Africa and South America. I volunteered at wildlife sanctuaries, conservation centers, orphanages and taught in elementary schools in Central America, Asia and Africa. I transitioned from an adventure packed lifestyle to settling down, getting a “good” job and essentially conforming to the social norms and expectations. I became a mother, built a beautiful family home and spent my days running around trying to cross off everything on my “to-do” list. I checked off all the boxes we are told will bring us happiness and success. But I felt like something fundamental was missing from my life. I felt guilty thinking this way because I had done everything I was supposed to and I had so much to be grateful for. I started meditating as a mechanism to help with my anxiety, something I have dealt with my entire life. Setting time aside for myself to calm my busy mind helped me realize that I had to make changes to my lifestyle if I wanted to be happy. I believe this was the pivotal moment where I realized I had been doing it all backwards. I had to rewire my thought patterns and build new healthy habits in order to feel happy again. I chose to be completely present while spending time with my family and re-examined the things that brought me the most joy. During the process of restructuring my life, my perspective shifted, no longer caring about the social labels and expectations that surrounded me. I went from simply existing to consciously aligning my thoughts and actions to purpose and feeling for the first time in my life inner peace and pure joy. I want to pass on life-changing tools and self-care strategies to bring peace and harmony into your life. I hope you join me for an amazing week in Nosara, Costa Rica.
Edgardo Gomez's Bio
Born in El Salvador a stillborn baby, Edgardo Gomez was brought back to life by his grandmother, a shaman who placed him on the earth under a large metal wash basin. Using the rhythm of the earth’s heart she beat on the “drum” placed over him for an hour until he took his first breathe. This Shamanic miracle was the beginning of his legacy to become a Mayan Shaman. Having been raised with his Shaman grandmother, Edgardo began learning Mayan healing traditions and teachings from an early age. Now a Mayan Jaguar Shaman, he has traveled the Mayan Path through Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, Belize and Mexico. He has also studied other cultures of healing and shamanism around the world such as in Egypt, Mongolia, Russia, China, Peru, Panama, the United States and Canada.
Edgardo has worked closely with First Nations Elders in Canada and has been successfully applying Shamanism healing techniques to his clients around the world for over two decades. His philosophy is to balance the Soul using Shamanic wisdom and medicine teachings and working with people to transform their suffering into wellbeing. “I feel that suffering doesn’t allow us to see who we really are. Without an open mind and heart, it is not easy for many to create a healthy mind, body, soul, and spirit to balance our daily life. Through my work I assist those who are seeking to heal themselves and recognize their own healing abilities.” Through his work and healing, his intention is to help heal Mother Nature as well as Mother Earth and all life forms that live on her.
